Peter Valentyne graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy where he was awarded the prestigious Atlantic Monthly prize for poetry. He had his first screenplay Petals On a Wet, Black Bough optioned by Tri-Star Pictures. Staged readings in New York include three full-length plays: The Unimagined Bridge, The Fortuneteller’s Nostalgia and Candidates for God, the latter done at Manhattan Punchline Theatre. He has written two additional screenplays (yet to be produced) The Enemy Joy and Court of the Arms. His plays The Aluminum Garden, Prater at Lethe, The Logic of Solids and Trusting Mr. Universe were all produced by Sage Theatre Company on Theatre Row, all four of which were awarded “Best Plays” in the company’s annual competition. The Aluminum Garden ran for a record six months. Mr. Valentyne believes in bringing plays to the people having himself directed Trusting Mr. Universe for performances in a church. His play The Logic of Solids (first produced in 1998 at the Abington Theatre) was last performed at the foot of a lighthouse on the Isle Au Haut in Maine for a benefit performance to raise proceeds for the restoration of the island lighthouse. The project was filmed as a documentary for Maine Public Television. Peter hosts a Film Series on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 at Manhattan Plaza. He is currently at work on a new play entitled Under Nimbus. Also, Peter has a new book of poetry entitled Blue Healer(available at Outcasts) .

 

Keith Benedict is a Welshman who as a boy soprano was a finalist at Music Festivals throughout the British Isles.  After studying ballet, he made his professional debut at age nine in the pantomime, Babes in the Woods.  At 15 he joined the Maidstone Youth Theatre in Kent, playing lead roles.  At 16 he co-founded the Hospitals Broadcasting Service in Kentand was the On-Air Announcer/Host of The Weekly Record Request Program,interviewing stars such as Dusty Springfield and Cleo Laine.  At 20, he won a scholarship to WebberDouglasAcademy in London, followed by a year in British Rep.  At age 24 he made his West Enddebut as standby for Donal McCann in The Au Pair Man, starring Joan Greenwood, at The Duchess Theatre.  He then starred in Tom Eyen’s The Dirtiest Show in Town, that ran in the West Endfor 2½ years.  During these years, he was appearing in television and movie commercials, was a featured singer at The Latin Quarter in London, and had a recording released in Europethrough Italian-based Roma Records.  He appeared in films in London and Rome, and in the docudrama Shaping The Nationproduced by The Royal College of Art for The British Pavilion at Expo ‘67 in Montreal In 1970 he came to the United Statesand starred in Minus One, a play with music and dance that originated in Hollywood, California Since then he has starred in many New York plays and musicals i.e. Wally for Queen, Shelley, Jack the Ripper, Home Chatand Mumbo Jumbo, and in De Obeah Monat Actors Studio, that starred Delores Hall.  He has appeared in a number of Mel Miller’s Musicals Tonight,such as Gershwin’s Girl Crazyand Cole Porter’s Leave It To Me; and as King Edward the Eighth in The Windsor Folliesat the WaldorfTowersand the Laurie Beechman Theatre.  Keith is a virtuoso whistler and has whistled in stage musicals, on film soundtracks, in live concerts with orchestra and in his nightclub act.  He is also an artist who paints murals; designs sets for shows; does posters, programs, book covers and illustrations, and has produced an astounding collection of Wearable Art.
